Dole Baker, Jr. M.D.

Dr. Dole Baker received his BS degree in Biology from Bucknell Univeristy and his Medical Degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Baker completed his internship residency in general surgery and Otolaryngology at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, MD. David Donelson, M.D.

Dr. David Donelson attended the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC, followed by his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, where he served as chief resident.

Dr. Donelson is board certified in general ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology.

Aside from Ophthalmology, Dr. Donelson enjoys endurance sports such as cycling and running and has completed several triathlons. He also enjoys golf and is a certified SCUBA diver.

Dr. Donelson and his wife, Susan, have lived in the Greenville area for over 25 years.


Donald Glaser, M.D.

Dr. Donald Glaser graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Jefferson College and completed his medical doctorate at Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Glaser completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and received advanced surgical training at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital.

Dr. Glaser is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has practiced in the Upstate since he completed his residency training. He practices comprehensive ophthalmology, including treatment of cataracts and glaucoma.

Dr. Glaser recently joined Clemson Eye. He and his wife, Michelle, live in Greenville.



Elizabeth Holland, M.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Holland is a board certified ophthalmologist and is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. The daugher of the ate Malvern C. Holland, MD, she returns to Greenville to carry on the tradition of caring, patient centered eye care that was delivered by her father here in Greenville from 1960 until 2001. Dr. Holland is a graduate of Furman University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her medical degree from the Medical Univesity of South Carolina in 1995 and completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1999. Dr. Holland spent 9 years working at the MidWest Eye Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She then relocated to Neenah Wisconsin and worked for Optivision. Dr. Holland returned to Greenville,SC in 2010 to follow in her father's footsteps.Dr. Holland is compasionate about patient care and is meticulous in her surgical technique, as well as her preoperative assessments. Dr. Holland is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the South Carolina Medical Society, and the Greenville Medical Society. She is the director and president of Holland Eye Center, P.C. In her free time she enjoys competitive long distance running and spending time with her two daughters. back

Kelby J. Hutcheson

Dr. Hutcheson attended the Medical University of South Carolina. Upon completion, he did his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and his fellowship at Emory University. Dr. Hutcheson is board certified in Anesthesiology and Anesthesiology-Pain Medicine. 


Brian Johnson, M.D.

Dr. Brian Johnson earned his undergraduate degree in chemisty at Clemson University. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his internship in internal medicine at Pennsylavania State University, Milton S Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Johnson completed his Ophthalmology residency at Penn State where he served as Chief Resident his final year.

Dr. Johnson and his family returned to Clemson in 2007 to join the team of doctors at Clemson Eye. He practices comprehensive ophthalmology including surgical treatment of cataracts. In 2009, he became certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Johnson lives in North Anderson with his wife Anna, a registered nurse, and their three children. He enjoys golf, boating, and attending sporting events. An active member of church, he enjoys history and travel with his family.



Y. Eugene Mironer
Pain Management

Dr. Mironer attended medical school at Moscow Medical School and completed his residency at University of Massachusetts, Worchester, MA. He completed his fellowhisp and MCV-VCU, Richmond, VA and is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. 


Joseph Parisi, M.D.

Dr. Joseph Parisi obtained his medical degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He interned at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Dr. Parisi and his family relocated to Clemson, SC in 1994. He serves as the medical director and chief ophthalmologist at Clemson Eye in Clemson, SC. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and of the American College of Surgeons. He has performed thousands of microsurgical procedures including cataract surgery, orbital and tear duct surgery and functional eyelid surgery.

Dr. Parisi, his wife and their two daughters live in Clemson where they are active members in the community. He also enjoys running, skiing, golfing, playing guitar, cooking, and traveling with his family.


Phillip Saccogna, M.D.

Dr. Phillip Saccogna attended Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, OH where he graduated first in his class with honors. He completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Saccogna's practice, Easley Head and Neck Surgery is located in Easley, SC. He performs several procedures, including:

  • Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy
  • Myringoplasty
  • Septoplasty
  • Tympanostomy
  • Sinus Surgery

Dr. Saccogna is a board certified Otolaryngologist who also specializes in Facial Plastic Surgery. He has extensive experience with pediatrics.


Alison Smith
Pediatric Ophthalmology

Dr. Alison Schutt Smith joined Clemson Eye in December 2016. A native of Colorado, Dr. Smith graduated from The Colorodo College with a B.A. in Biology in 2001. She obtained her medical degree from Texas Tech, graduating in May 2006. She completed her internship at Case Medical Center in Cleveland, OH and her residency in ophthalmology there in 2010. Dr. Smith received a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Cole Eye institute at the Cleveland Clinic from 2010-2011. 

After completing her fellowship, she joined the teaching staff at Texas Tech as an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. She continued teaching at the University of Texas, Southwestern, until February of 2013, when she joined the staff of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville as an associate professor. 

Dr. Smith resides in Campobello, SC with her two sons and two Burmese Mountain dogs. In addition to being an experienced equestrienne, her other interests include reading, hiking, skiing, and playing the piano.


Mitchell Wolin, M.D.

Dr. Mitchell Wolin attended Union College in Schenectady, NY. He then went on to Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. He completed his internship at Bridgeport Hospital and a three year Ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University. He then completed a fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology in New York City. Dr. Wolin is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist in the upstate region and in 1998 established The Center for Advanced Eye Care in Greenville, SC. He practices general ophthalmology including both medical and surgical care. Dr. Wolin's Professional Associations include American Academy of Ophthalmology, Greenville County Medical Society, North American Neuro-Oph Society, South Carolina Medical Association and the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology.   back
