Adam R. Easterling, MD has joined our team of doctors at Clemson Eye! He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who comes to us from Jervey Eye in Simpsonville where he has been practicing for the past 11 years. While playing varsity baseball for four years, he completed an engineering degree at Georgia Tech with High Honors. Then, Dr. Easterling attended medical school at USC where he graudated Magna Cum Laude, and completed a residency in ophthalmology at Duke University, where he received Resident of the Year and Surgical Excellence awards.

Dr. Easterling is very excited about the advanced care he will be able to provide patients at Clemson Eye. If you have been a patient of his in the past, we welcome you! We are actively searching for his new Simpsonville office, but until then, he will be available to see existing and new patients at our Greenville location at 360 Pelham Rd., Greenville, SC 29615.

Dr. Donald Glaser graduated summa cum laude from Washington and Jefferson College and completed his medical doctorate at Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Glaser completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and received advanced surgical training at the Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital.

Dr. Glaser is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has practiced in the Upstate since he completed his residency training. He practices comprehensive ophthalmology, including treatment of cataracts and glaucoma.

Dr. Glaser recently joined Clemson Eye. He and his wife, Michelle, live in Greenville.

Dr. Elizabeth Holland is a board certified ophthalmologist and is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. The daugher of the ate Malvern C. Holland, MD, she returns to Greenville to carry on the tradition of caring, patient centered eye care that was delivered by her father here in Greenville from 1960 until 2001. Dr. Holland is a graduate of Furman University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received her medical degree from the Medical Univesity of South Carolina in 1995 and completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1999. Dr. Holland spent 9 years working at the MidWest Eye Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. She then relocated to Neenah Wisconsin and worked for Optivision. Dr. Holland returned to Greenville,SC in 2010 to follow in her father's footsteps.Dr. Holland is compasionate about patient care and is meticulous in her surgical technique, as well as her preoperative assessments. Dr. Holland is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the South Carolina Medical Society, and the Greenville Medical Society. Dr. Brian Johnson earned his undergraduate degree in chemisty at Clemson University. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his internship in internal medicine at Pennsylavania State University, Milton S Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Johnson completed his Ophthalmology residency at Penn State where he served as Chief Resident his final year.

Dr. Johnson and his family returned to Clemson in 2007 to join the team of doctors at Clemson Eye. He practices comprehensive ophthalmology including surgical treatment of cataracts.

Dr. Johnson lives in North Anderson with his wife Anna, a registered nurse, and their three children. He enjoys golf, boating, and attending sporting events. An active member of church, he enjoys history and travel with his family.

Dr. Joseph Parisi obtained his medical degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. He interned at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Quebec and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Dr. Parisi and his family relocated to Clemson, SC in 1994. He serves as the medical director and chief ophthalmologist at Clemson Eye in Clemson, SC. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and of the American College of Surgeons. He has performed thousands of microsurgical procedures including cataract surgery, orbital and tear duct surgery and functional eyelid surgery.

Dr. Parisi, his wife and their two daughters live in Clemson where they are active members in the community. He also enjoys running, skiing, golfing, playing guitar, cooking, and traveling with his family.

In August 2017, Dr. Justin Roman joins Clemson Eye after completing a cornea fellowship under the tutelage of Drs. Kerry Solomon and Charlene Grice of Carolina Eyecare Physicians in Mount Pleasant, SC. After becoming a Mechanical Engineer, Dr. Roman decided to pursue a career in medicine at the University of New Mexico, then a residency in ophthalmology at MUSC.

We are very excited to have Dr. Roman join us and offer our network of referring physicians his expertise in cornea, external disease, advanced dry eye, cataract and refractive surgery. Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Roman specializes in procedures like corneal transplants, DMEK, DSEK, and cross-linking will also be his central focus. Dr. Roman will accept referrals and see patients in all of the Clemson Eye locations: Anderson, Clemson, Easley and Greenville.

Justin Roman is a competitive marathon runner (3x Boston Marathoner), who is excited about returning to the Upstate with his wife, Allison, a Greenville native, and their baby daughter, Riley.

Alison Smith

Dr. Alison Schutt Smith joined Clemson Eye in December 2016. A native of Colorado, Dr. Smith graduated from The Colorodo College with a B.A. in Biology in 2001. She obtained her medical degree from Texas Tech, graduating in May 2006. She completed her internship at Case Medical Center in Cleveland, OH and her residency in ophthalmology there in 2010. Dr. Smith received a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Cole Eye institute at the Cleveland Clinic from 2010-2011. 

After completing her fellowship, she joined the teaching staff at Texas Tech as an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology. She continued teaching at the University of Texas, Southwestern, until February of 2013, when she joined the staff of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville as an associate professor. 

Dr. Smith resides in Campobello, SC with her two sons and two Burmese Mountain dogs. In addition to being an experienced equestrienne, her other interests include reading, hiking, skiing, and playing the piano.
